Hedgehog Helpline offers practical advice and help across the Rhondda Cynon Taf, Merthyr, Blaenau Gwent, Caerphilly, Vale of Glamorgan, Monmouthshire, Newport and Cardiff areas. If you live outside of these areas, please contact the British Hedgehog Preservation Society for information about hedgehog carers in your area or the links at the bottom of this page.
Hedgehog Helpline began in 1988 and became a registered charity in 1995. We take in sick, injured and orphaned hedgehogs with the intention of returning them to the wild once they are fully recovered and able to survive. However, all our advice is aimed at the European Hedgehog (Erinaceus europaeus) in the UK.

Found a sick, injured or hedgehog out during the day? – See our Emergency Care page. Please do not email or send Facebook messages about hedgehogs that need us. We run on volunteers who have jobs and families, and the mail and social media is not manned 24/7.
